About
Hi! I’m Christine, founder of The Buffer Zone.
My story begins with the Patrick Rose case. When I learned that the Boston Police Department shielded one of their own after credible allegations of child sexual abuse, it forced me to see the system differently. The cover-up lasted decades. The silence was deliberate. It was my first encounter with the kind of corruption that does not just fail people...it tries to erase them.
That experience opened my eyes. As I began discussing that case and others like it with my peers, I started to realize how many people around me had their own stories. Pleas for justice ignored. Patterns of silence repeated. But it was the Karen Read trial that fully awakened me. When officials in Norfolk County set up a buffer zone around the courthouse, it was clear the goal was to quiet the public and contain dissent. That plan backfired. Instead of suppressing awareness, it ignited it. People showed up in greater numbers. They asked harder questions. They saw through the performance.
That moment shaped this brand.
The Buffer Zone was born not from compliance, but from resistance. What began as a physical space to keep people out has become a platform that brings people in.
A space for truth.
A space for transparency.
A space for the kind of accountability institutions have spent years avoiding.
This started as an apparel brand, but it will not stay one. My goals for this platform are long, but rooted in truth and transparency.
My decision to open this shop now, as the Karen Read trial nears its end, is intentional. The headlines may fade. The court may clear the room. But the truth does not expire when the verdict comes in. The Buffer Zone will remain. The questions will remain. The mistrust will remain. The facts, the patterns, the stories that were almost buried will continue to be told.
This is not just about shirts. This is about building something they cannot silence.
Thank you for being part of it.
